The Somerset Kitchen
The clients wanted a revamp of their existing kitchen. They kept the carcasses but wanted a new look for their country cottage kitchen. We worked together on the design and with their love for walking and the local countryside we decided upon creating a rolling hills design, using some of the existing colours of the tiles and the floor. I wanted to create a sort of stained glass look with the black lines which also mirrors the work top and the edges of the doors, and the stained glass style windows.
The kitchen is now has a modern look, unique, and yet in keeping with the original interior.
A simple way to revamp the kitchen without a complete overhaul.
The hills are depicted by pieces of laser cut formica that has been laid with a modern marquetry technique. The beauty of using formica laminate is that its durable, is amply wipe clean, perfect for a kitchen.
The doors are made with valcromat, an extremely durable composite board which has been finished to a high polish on the edges.
